Hey there,
This will be a bit of an irregular post.
Next week we’ll have our first ever Fireside Talk with Nico Appel and Jacob Elliott.
We’ll discuss AI upskilling, making money as an AI consultant and recent developments in the AI field, including reasoning and search.
Join us to ask:
What should I learn if not prompt engineering?
3 months ago I made a bold claim that “learning prompt engineering is a waste of time” and while I got loads of positive comments, it also made quite a few people cranky.
Next Friday I’ll go into great detail as to WHY I think prompt engineering is just plain stupid, what made me take a 180-turn on my previous views after building and running a school for a year and I’ll also tell you what you should learn if you want to stay on top of the AI boom.
At least I’m gonna tell you what I’m learning and sharing with everyone for free in the Lumberjack Discord, a fully open and free community about AI.
How can I find opportunities for AI integration?
We’ll discuss our experience with working with clients. If you’re an AI consultant, this will be a must. We’ll talk about what are the low hanging fruits, how to find them when you talk to a potential client and how to turn client problems into AI automations that you can sell.
I’m sharing all my experience — telling you customer stories I never told before.
I’m hoping to get questions during and afterwards so I’ll stick around on Discord for an AMA session.
Can AI reason? If no, why not?
I’ve been doing a lot of research into semantic ontology recently (currently focusing on LightRAG which is a knowledge graph powered embedding solution for retrieval). Next Thursday I’ll have an hour long consulting session with Levente Szabados who teaches machine learning and data science at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management discussing this very topic.
A short spoiler from Levente:
“LLMs don’t reason, but we don’t know that they can’t either.“
I’m planning to bring all the new insights and ideas I get from my call with Levente and in a good TGIF manner go wild at the end of our talk discussing the future.
So, you in?
