FREE training: The Weekend Developer
I'm working on a full training for beginners to build apps with Lovable
Today I had a 30 minute call with Lovable.
They’re launching a “Hire a Builder” program and I pitched a content collaboration idea for them where I’d help them train non-technical people from zero to building fully functional apps on Lovable, without coding.
Then I realized if you want it, I can do it without them. I just need you.
The content will be free but I only do it if enough people say they want this training.
AI agent based coding is here
If you’re following the space, Lovable is one of the few AI agent based coding tools out there.
Bolt came around then Vercel launched v0. The last to join the team was Lovable.
I first tested Lovable in November. I immediately reached out to the team because I was very impressed.
Then my CGM project was taking too long so I didn’t have time to focus on it. I toyed with the idea of moving CGM to Lovable, but it was falling apart all the time.
“I’ll switch when they solve the reliability issue.” - I said and went back to building my projects.
It’s been about three months now and I can confidently say: they solved it.
It works so well, I’m considering ditching Make, n8n, Zapier, JetAdmin and my entire no-code stack to Lovable.
I’m also going to be documenting the whole thing and sharing it as a training.
The biggest opportunity in 2025
Most of my readers fall into this bucket:
You have a great deal of experience in your field. You’re somewhat technical, probably more at an enthusiast than an engineering level. You can meddle with Zapier or Make but you can’t code. You’re probably looking to make money with AI somehow. You probably also tried doing some Python courses but it’s too complicated.
I think I found your answer: Start your freelance career as a Lovable Developer.
Let me explain.
Yesterday Caroline Wong from the Lovable team subtly announced their Hire a Builder Program. She invited builder to chat and I immediately booked a session with her.
Turns out they are constantly bombarded with clients reaching out asking if they can point them to a developer who can build with Lovable.
It’s easy, fast and a LOT more affordable than hiring a software engineer.
They also have builders registered in their system already, asking for leads.
Currently their Freelancer to Client ratio is 4:1. So for every client there are four freelancers competing.
To put this into perspective, the same for Upwork is 21:1.
On Upwork your chances of winning a new job are 81% lower.
Add the fact that Upwork is a saturated marketplace while Lovable is still in its early stages meaning you’ll get:
A lot of support from Lovable itself
Extra exposure due to riding their growth
Ease of starting up as one of the first people on their platform
I’ve been a power user of Make, Zapier, Airtable and a lot of other no-code tools for a long time. What I teach in my no-code guide still holds true:
BUT! I’m considering ditching every no-code tool altogether to only focus on Lovable and Supabase because it’s faster, cheaper, better and I can focus on the stuff I love doing: designing architecture.
The Weekend Developer
So here’s the deal. If there is enough interest, I will create a free training program called The Weekend Developer.
It will cover everything you need to go from someone who has absolutely zero tech skills to building and selling SaaS apps.
Basic curriculum is:
No-Code Agent Stack
Lovable
Supabase
Vercel
Github
Software Fundamentals
Creating user stories
Basic UX/UI design
Creating database structure
Creating software architecture
Commercial Fundamentals
Using third party APIs
Taking payments from your users
Handling multiple users, teams, roles, etc
Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, etc
Full launch checklist
If you do the Weekend Developer, you will be capable of doing two things:
Turn your idea into an app in a weekend
Sell your services as a Lovable Developer
I’m not sure when I’ll launch this, so no promises yet. I’ll sit down in February and build the 100 Days of No-Code email course and once I’m done, this is the next.
But if you want in, here’s how you can help me launch this:
Sign up for the pre-enrollment: https://kit.lumberjack.so/weekend
Share this post with your friends. Send them on email, post it to Linkedin, restack on Substack. All those friends who are thinking of launching a startup, send them this. Those currently learning to code, send them this.
Why are you doing this for free?
If you read my first article in August, you know that I have a simple motto:
Knowledge is free, time is money.
I don’t want to launch a paid course ever again. I’ll share what I know for free. For those who want more help and accountability, I will probably launch regular hackathons and study groups that they can join for a small amount. Because that takes my time, so I’ll charge for it.
Simple.
So. Are you in?
